As we can't leave the house, we cannot go out for dinner.. which means we are missing our weekly dose of sushi.
We tried to make our own sushi already few times.. Pictures below!
It's pretty easy to make - we bought the Sushi Rice from Waitrose - "Sushi Daily"
It does have all the step by steps you need to follow!
To prepare 1200g of cooked rice - you want this for 2 people - put 500g + 700ml of water in a medium size saucepan
Bring to boil
Reduce the heat to a low simmer and cover for 20 minutes
Remove the pot from the heat, add 150ml of Rice Vinegar and let it rest for 10 minutes - it will be very hot so you might need a bit more than 10 mins.
And your rice is ready!



Remember to buy:
- Ginger (if you like it)
- Soya Sauce
- Wasabi
- Rice vinegar (to add to the rice)
- Whatever you want to use for the sushi, like:
Salmon
Tuna
Prawns
Avocado
Cream Cheese
Egg
Sriracha sauce
Cucumber
Carrots..
We made few different ones..
- Cream cheese, salmon and avocado
- Cream cheese, salmon and cucumber
- Cucumber and avocado
- Prawns and avocado
- Sriracha sauce, salmon and avocado
- Cream cheese and salmon
- Salmon and cucumber
- A mix of everything: salmon, prawns, avocado, sriracha and cucumber 🥑🥒🍤
