Taralli with chilli flakes

As I can't go back home, and I haven't found any taralli in this quarantine, I thought to make some! Ingredients for roughly 30 taralli:

  • 250 gr flour

  • 30 ml water

  • 50 ml white wine - if you don't want to use wine, you can add more water instead!

  • 45 ml oil

  • salt

Instructions:

  • Put flour and water in a bowl, add salt, wine and water

  • Start with a spoon, and then knead the dough with your hands on a flat surface, till it's smooth and elastic

  • Let is rest for 30 mins

  • Cut the dough in two pieces.

  • If you want to add some chilly flakes, now it's the time! So open up one of the dough and add the chilly flakes in there, cover it again and knead it again for couple of minutes. You can either do the same on the other piece of dough or you can have plain ones with that!

  • Roll out the dough into ropes and cut approximately 20 cm and join the ends together to form a tear drop shape

  • Place the shaped drops on a clean tea towel

  • Add the taralli to a pot of boiling water, 5 - 7 at a time, they will sink, once they have resurfaced removed with a slotted spoon and place on a team towel to dry.

  • Place the boiled taralli on a baking paper - I didn't have it so I used foil lol

  • Bake for approximately 30 mins or until golden at 180'.

  • Let cool completely before eating!
